The sky is falling!! There is a lot of truth in the presentation but there is a lot of misleading information as well. I agree that American's as a whole are more than just consumers. They are also big "wasters." Fortunately our local community takes recycling seriously. We have noticed that some communities we have recently visited haven't figured it out yet. What we haven't solved in this country is how to keep the demand for useless products down. I believe government is broken and many large corporations are very greedy but they are meerly trying to placate their investors (the people) by trying to reach unrealistic financial expectations. A downward spiral is sucking us lower and lower.
Wait a minute... if all this pollution and toxics are really doing us in, how come we are living longer and longer that we ever have in the history of mankind?
Ya... My favorite part was "this chemical makes things more flame-retardant. But it's a neuro-toxin, so why in the world would we use it?"
Um... because it makes things more fire-proof and therefore more safe... as long as you don't eat it.
"MMmm... the plastic casing of my TV sure tastes great!... Could you please pass the Dvd Player?" :)
